The Miss Goldsboro and Miss Goldsboro’s Outstanding Teen programs are official preliminary competitions to the Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen pageants. These programs provide a unique opportunity for young ladies to gain valuable pageant experience as well as life skills. The competition is intended to encourage and reward scholastic achievement, communication skills, talent, and community service. Miss Goldsboro 2023 and Miss Goldsboro’s Outstanding Teen 2023 will be crowned on November 5, 2022 at the beautiful Paramount Theatre in Historic Downtown Goldsboro.

Our first meeting/rehearsal for the 2022 Miss Goldsboro Pageant is October 9th at 4:00pm at Artistic Dance Academy (Downtown Goldsboro). This meeting is for Miss and Teen contestants, Carolina Princesses, and parents. Please bring all completed paperwork, supporting documents, and talent music CDs to this rehearsal.

To compete in the Miss Goldsboro Scholarship Pageant, contestants must meet the following criteria:

■ Be between the ages of 17 – 26.  If 17 years old, you must be a High School graduate
■ Be single and have never been married.
■ Meet residency requirements for competing in Miss Goldsboro Scholarship Pageant (please read the Miss NC contract carefully for more details).
■ Must be a resident of Wayne, Duplin, Greene, Harnett, Johnston, Lenoir, Pitt, Sampson, Wake, or Wilson County. We are excited to announce the expansion of location eligibility to include: Lee, Durham, Nash, Edgecombe, Martin, Beaufort, Craven, Pamlico, Carteret, Jones, Onslow, Pender, New Hanover, Bladen and Cumberland County.
■ Meet criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.
■ Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
■ Actively develop a community service platform.
■ Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Goldsboro Board of Directors.
■ Be willing to participate in five phases of competition including:

  • Private Interview with judges panel (9-½ minutes; 30 second close) – 25%
  • On-stage question –  15%
  • Evening Wear/Social Impact Statement – 20% (Social Impact Statement is no more than 60 seconds long, and is related to your personal platform)
  • Talent (1 minute, 30 seconds) – 40% (Singers may not have vocals in the background that mimic the melody sung by the candidate.  Dancers cannot have sounds in their music that mimic tap or clogging. Instrumentalists – if they use a CD cannot have the same instrument they are playing mimic the melody)

Miss Goldsboro is required to attend Work Weekend and Miss NC pageant week.
